It's Time for Middle & High School Decisions!

It's (Middle & High School) Decision Time!

How do decisions work? And how can you make the best choice for your child?

For our families who spent the fall busily practicing their SSATs/ISEEs, preparing for interviews, and writing essays for admissions offices, decision time is fast-approaching for those who applied to NYC day schools (boarding school applicants have to wait a little longer!).

Some logistics you should know:

When will students hear back?**

Grades 1-8: February 13th

Grades 9-12: February 21st

**Note that non-ISAAGNY schools have slightly different reply dates, which should be noted on their websites.

When do schools expect to hear back from you?

Your family has roughly 1-3 weeks to respond to your admissions offer(s), & the response date will be included in your offer.

How do we decide which school is the best fit?

Schools will offer admitted students re-visit days, which allow kids to visit without the nerves of application season. We recommend students really go into these days with open minds–kids change a lot at this age and during this process, and we often see students change their minds after re-visits.

We can also do our best to connect your family with a family already at a potential new school so you can hear more about their experiences.

Ultimately, you want to choose a school where your child can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Let's stay in touch as decisions come in! We are very much your partners in all things education, and eager to give guidance and advice as you make these important decisions.

P.S. My team is always available to discuss ways to support your child through their academic and/or test prep journey.
